April 2022

Springtime in Arizona is one of my favorite times of year.  The mornings and evenings are cool while the days hover around the mid-eighties.  Consequently, we spend more time outside.  We hike.  We golf.  We enjoy our patio more.  The mountain preserve behind our house becomes full of blooming plants and flowers.  The desert creatures become more active and playful.  The air fills with the scent of orange blossoms which cause havoc on everyone's allergies, but we all embrace this time of year as we know summer is just around the corner. This April, we celebrated two different religious holidays that epitomize spring.  They are both about the themes of rebirth, hope, and liberation.  As a convert, I often find the similarities between Judaism and Christianity intriguing.  In fact, it makes celebrating Easter and Passover even more special to me knowing there are so many similarities like: The Pesach Seder = The Last Supper of Jesus B...

Spring Sports 2021

Thankfully, during the spring, both kids were given the opportunity to continue participating in their sports activities.  Aiden played in the other flag football league, PrimeTime Athletics North Phoenix.  He played on the same team as one of his Lookout Mountain Elementary School friends.  This made it a little more special for him.  We really enjoyed watching them play together.  Plus, we really enjoyed the coach, Coach Shackelford.  Although this particular team didn't win one game the entire season, the coach taught the boys true life skills -- how to work hard, use team work and have a positive attitude.  It was a frustrating, yet valuable season. Springtime Shenanigans

The months of April and May were full of time with friends and family.  After almost a year of limited in-person time with people, it was welcomed and invigorating.  We enjoyed birthday celebrations, play dates, pool time, golf outings, happy hours and community service projects.  It was so nice to have a semblance of normalcy in our lives again. CCV Flag Football ~ Spring 2021

On Friday, March 30th, Aiden finished his spring flag football season with the CCV Stars youth sports program.  What a great season!  The kids may not have won their age bracket, but they played well as a team and had fun doing it.  Aiden particularly loved this season as his teammates were mostly all friends from school or preschool.  They had chemistry and comradery.  Plus, they had a great coach (Coach Adam Cox).  It was a very fun season to watch.
