January 2024

January was a month of fresh starts, busy schedules, and milestones as we dove headfirst into the new year. From house renovations to sports competitions, here are the highlights from a bustling start to 2024:

House Renovation Progress

The house renovations reached some exciting milestones this month! Shower tiling was installed, and the drywall sanding and mudding brought a smooth finish to the walls. The exterior was stuccoed with a sleek white coat, completely transforming the look of the house. The new exterior feels modern and bright—what a difference it makes! Josh and I also started shopping for furniture and lighting fixtures. Dreaming up the finishing touches has been a fun part of this journey as we envision our completed home.

Time with Friends

Madilyn enjoyed spending time with her friends this month, balancing their busy schedules with some fun and connection. These moments of laughter and friendship are so important amidst her packed activities.

Sandstorm Lacrosse Tournament

Aiden traveled to Palm Springs with Team 48 2030s to compete in the Sandstorm Lacrosse Tournament. Unfortunately, the team didn’t place, and Aiden had limited playtime. Despite the challenges, the experience of being part of such a competitive event was a valuable learning opportunity for Aiden and his team.

Madilyn’s Cheer Competition Season Begins

Madilyn kicked off her cheer competition season with Arizona Prestige Black Diamonds. At her first competition of the year, the Winter Championship, she showcased her skills and dedication, even double-teaming by assisting Code Black. Her passion for cheer and teamwork was on full display, and we couldn’t be prouder of her hard work.

Volunteering Together

Madilyn and I continued our volunteer work with National Charity League by participating in a session at Feed My Starving Children. It was a meaningful experience to pack meals and contribute to such a vital cause. These moments of giving back remind us of the importance of service and community.

Arizona Rise Tournament

Aiden played in the local Arizona Rise Lacrosse Tournament with Arizona Hot Sauce. While the team didn’t place, Aiden stood out for his strong defensive efforts and teamwork. It’s incredible to see his growth on the field and his dedication to improving his skills.

Arrowhead Warrior Season Kickoff

On January 27th, the Arrowhead Warrior season officially kicked off. The energy and excitement of a new season were palpable, setting the stage for a thrilling year ahead.

Peaks and Pints Adventure

I joined my bootcamp group for a day of hiking and camaraderie during our Peaks and Pints outing. We tackled two scenic hikes at Thunderbird Conservation Park, soaking in the beautiful desert views. After a morning of exercise, we rewarded ourselves with a delicious meal and drinks at Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers. It was a perfect blend of fitness and fun, and a great way to connect with my bootcamp crew.

Reflecting on January

January set the tone for an exciting and productive year. From the steady progress on our house renovation to the kids’ sports and activities, and moments of volunteering and adventure, it was a month full of growth and connection. Here’s to carrying this momentum forward into the months ahead!
