February 2024

February brought a mix of milestones, achievements, and cherished moments for our family. Here’s a look back at the highlights:

House Renovation Updates

The house renovation saw significant progress this month, though not without a few hiccups. Cabinets were installed, but the kitchen cabinets turned out to be too large and had to be resized—a debacle that tested everyone’s patience. On a brighter note, the wood flooring began to go in, and it’s absolutely stunning! The new roof was completed, and the installation of wooden accent walls and beams brought warmth and character to the space. The house is truly transforming into our dream home.

Aiden’s Lacrosse Adventures

Aiden participated in the Robinhood Skirmish Tournament, playing for both Team 48 2030s and the Arrowhead Warriors. This made for some very long days, but his hard work paid off as Team 48 2030s placed first! It was a demanding yet rewarding weekend of lacrosse for Aiden.

B’nei Mitzvah Preparations

Both kids began diving deeper into their studies for their B’nei Mitzvah. With a special trip to Israel planned for December 2024, the excitement is building as they prepare for this meaningful milestone. Their dedication is inspiring to see.

Madilyn’s Cheer Competition & Mitzvah Day

Madilyn competed in the Marquee Cheer Competition with AZ Prestige Black Diamonds this month. Her commitment to her team and her passion for cheer shine through in every performance.

On February 24th, her birthday, Madilyn had an incredibly busy day. She competed in the Valley of the Sun Cheer Competition and then attended Natalie Arkos’ Bat Mitzvah party. It was a whirlwind of celebrations, but Madilyn’s energy and enthusiasm made the day unforgettable.

Madilyn’s Exciting News

Madilyn received her acceptance into Xavier College Preparatory! She’s thrilled to start this next chapter as a Baby Gator in August 2024. We’re so proud of her hard work and the opportunities ahead.

Shabbat and Family Time

On February 16th, we joined the Vorobiofs for Shabbat while in Irvine for Aiden’s box lacrosse tournament. Spending time with GG and extended family is always a priority whenever we’re nearby. These gatherings are filled with love and connection.

Madilyn’s LA Adventure

While we were in Irvine, Madilyn traveled with the Congregation Beth Israel Teen Youth Group. Her weekend included Shabbat at Beit T’Shuvah, a visit to the Los Angeles Holocaust Museum, and a fun-filled day at Disneyland. She returned with stories of learning, laughter, and new memories with friends.

Winter Box Nationals in Irvine

Aiden’s Arizona Outlaws team placed second at the Winter Box Nationals in Irvine. Unfortunately, Aiden had to sit out one of the games due to a head injury, but he remained a supportive teammate throughout the tournament. We’re grateful for his recovery and his resilience on and off the field.

Jenn’s Trip to Washington DC

On February 24th, after the Bat Mitzvah party, Jenn flew to Washington DC for the NABIP Capitol Conference. The trip was packed with events, including the conference kickoff party, a Washington Capitals hockey game, and a breakfast featuring Senator Kelly as the guest speaker. It was a productive and inspiring trip, blending professional growth with memorable experiences.

Reflecting on February

February 2024 was a month of growth, milestones, and connection. From house renovations to sports and cheer competitions, B’nei Mitzvah preparations, and cherished family moments, it was a full and rewarding month. Here’s to carrying this momentum and joy into the months ahead!
