March was another memorable month for our family, filled with dances, competitions, and exciting developments at home. Here are the highlights:
Mountain Sky Junior High Spring Dance
Madilyn and Aiden attended their school’s spring dance, where they enjoyed an evening of music, friends, and fun. Seeing them dressed up and excited to spend time with their peers was a proud parenting moment. They came home with plenty of stories about the night’s festivities.
Xavier College Preparatory Orientation
Madilyn attended Xavier College Preparatory’s orientation, officially marking the start of her journey as a Baby Gator. During the event, she enrolled in her classes and picked up uniforms and lots of Xavier swag. Her excitement about starting this new chapter in August was palpable, and we’re thrilled for all the opportunities that lie ahead for her.
National Charity League Senior Recognition Event
Madilyn and I attended the National Charity League’s annual Senior Recognition event held at Orange Tree Golf Resort. The event was a beautiful celebration of the senior members’ accomplishments, and it was inspiring to see their hard work recognized. It also reminded us of the importance of service and community, values we hold dear as a family.
Las Vegas Cheer Competition
Madilyn, Josh, and I headed to Las Vegas for the World Class Championship cheer competition. On Friday night, we treated Madilyn to a fancy sushi dinner, where she got to unwind before her big day. After she competed on Saturday, we explored the Downtown Container Park, a unique open-air shopping and dining area with creative designs. We ended the day at Peppermill, enjoying their iconic shakes on the Strip. The weekend was a perfect mix of competition, family time, and fun.
Daily Life with Grandma and Papa
By March, Grandma and Papa had fully embraced the chaos of having us live with them during our house renovation. One of the most entertaining parts of the daily routine was Papa’s 4:45 p.m. snack time for the dogs. Watching him meticulously distribute snacks to each pup was like witnessing a well-rehearsed circus act. While life at their house has been bustling, we’re sure things will feel quieter when we move back home.
Valley of the Sun Red Carpet Cheer Competition
Madilyn competed in the Valley of the Sun Red Carpet cheer competition, once again double-teaming for both Code Black (Level 1) and Black Diamonds (Level 2). Her dedication and energy continue to impress us as she balances her cheer commitments with everything else on her plate.
House Renovation Milestones
Big changes happened with the house renovation this month. The custom-made front door was installed, finally making the house secure. It’s a stunning piece that sets the tone for the home’s design. The master bathroom tiling was also completed, adding another layer of beauty and functionality to the space. Every step brings us closer to moving back in and enjoying our new home.
Aiden’s Lacrosse Season
Aiden continued his recreation lacrosse season with the Arrowhead Warriors. His dedication to the sport and his growth as a player have been amazing to watch. We love cheering him on at games and seeing his hard work pay off on the field.
Reflecting on March
March 2024 was a month filled with milestones, from Madilyn’s cheer competitions and school orientation to exciting updates on our house renovation. Life with Grandma and Papa continues to be full of laughter and love, and we’re grateful for their support during this transitional time. As we move into spring, we look forward to the new adventures and memories waiting just around the corner.
