April 2024

April was a month of milestones, celebrations, and new chapters for our family. After nearly a year of living with Grandma and Papa, we finally moved back into our newly renovated home. Here’s how we celebrated this momentous month:

House Renovation Milestones

The finishing touches on the Aster House came together beautifully this month. Closets were installed, providing plenty of organized storage, and the quartzite countertops along with sink fixtures were added to the kitchen and bathrooms. The sleek and modern design made all the effort worthwhile.

On April 8th, Josh and I took a moment to enjoy a beer on our patio. It was a small but significant celebration of how far we had come in transforming our home. The next big milestone came on Friday, April 12th, when we officially moved furniture and boxes back into the house. After almost a year away, it felt incredible to call the Aster House our home again.

A Busy Weekend for Everyone

While we were busy moving back into the house, Madilyn was up north at a BBYO camp retreat. She had a wonderful weekend bonding with friends and participating in meaningful activities. Her retreat added a special layer to an already exciting weekend for the family.

First Shabbat in Our New Home

On April 19th, we celebrated our first Shabbat in the newly renovated Aster House. After a long journey, it was emotional and fulfilling to gather around the table in our own space. The kids invited friends to join the celebration, filling the home with laughter, warmth, and joy—just as we had envisioned.

30th Anniversary Party

Josh and I attended Mike and Sandy Godbehere’s 30th Anniversary party on April 20th. The 1980s theme made it a totally tubular night! From neon outfits to retro music, the evening was a nostalgic blast and a great way to unwind after a hectic few weeks.

Hosting Passover

On April 22nd, we hosted our first event in the Aster House: a Passover Seder for our friends and their kids. It was so special to be hosting again after such a long time away from our space. The evening was filled with meaningful traditions, delicious food, and the joy of sharing our home with loved ones.

Valley of the Sun Grand Canyon State Cheer Competition

Madilyn competed in the Valley of the Sun Grand Canyon State Cheer Competition this month, giving an outstanding performance. This event was bittersweet as AZ Prestige bid a formal goodbye to Patty, their beloved owner and coach, who is retiring and moving out of state. The team’s tribute to Patty was heartfelt and a beautiful way to honor her impact on their lives.

Reflecting on April

April 2024 was a transformative month for our family. Moving back into the Aster House was a dream realized, and the celebrations and milestones we shared made it even more special. From hosting our first Shabbat and Passover in our home to cheering Madilyn on at her competition, this month was filled with gratitude, joy, and hope for the future. Here’s to many more memories in our newly renovated home!
