May was a wonderful month filled with family celebrations, milestones, and moments of gratitude. Here’s a look at how we spent this memorable month:
Key Challah Shabbat
We kicked off May by enjoying Key Challah on the Shabbat following Passover. This special tradition symbolizes blessings and prosperity, and sharing it as a family in our newly renovated home made it even more meaningful. It was a quiet and reflective moment that set a positive tone for the month ahead.
Mother’s Day in Our New Home
Mother’s Day was especially sweet this year as we hosted it in our new home. We invited the Pattees over for a day of swimming, relaxing, and enjoying the beautiful Arizona weather. The kids went out of their way to spoil me, making it a perfect day filled with love and appreciation. It was a true blessing to celebrate in a space that has become a sanctuary for our family.
BGA Employee Appreciation Event
Josh and I attended the Black, Gould & Associates (BGA) Employee Appreciation event at Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson. The ranch’s stunning desert backdrop and serene atmosphere made for a fantastic day of camaraderie and recognition. It was a great opportunity to unwind and connect with Josh’s colleagues in a beautiful setting.
Madilyn Promotes to High School
Madilyn’s promotion to high school was a huge milestone for our family. It’s hard to believe she’ll be starting as a freshman at Xavier College Preparatory this August. The promotion ceremony was a mix of pride and nostalgia as we reflected on how much she’s grown and all she’s accomplished.
Aiden’s Last Day of 7th Grade
Aiden wrapped up his 7th-grade year this month, marking the end of another successful school year. His dedication and growth continue to make us proud, and we’re excited to see what 8th grade has in store for him. For now, he’s ready to enjoy a well-deserved summer break.
Memorial Day Gathering
We hosted our neighbors, the Briggs-Calhouns, along with some of the kids’ friends, for a Memorial Day gathering. It was a lively day filled with food, laughter, and swimming. Celebrating the holiday with our community in our new home was a reminder of how grateful we are for the people who make our lives richer.
ASU Leadership Society Academy
Madilyn and Aiden spent the last week of May attending the ASU Leadership Society Academy. This program offered them a chance to develop leadership skills, build confidence, and connect with peers. They both came home inspired and eager to put what they learned into action. It’s wonderful to see them embracing opportunities for personal growth and development.
Reflecting on May
May 2024 was a month of milestones and connection. From celebrating Madilyn’s promotion and hosting memorable gatherings in our new home to watching the kids embrace leadership opportunities, the month was filled with pride and gratitude. As summer begins, we look forward to making even more memories together as a family.
