June was a month of growth, travel, and heartfelt goodbyes for our family. Between summer school, lacrosse tournaments, and a national conference, the month was packed with meaningful experiences and memories. Here’s a look back at everything we did:
Madilyn and Aiden’s Summer Studies
Madilyn started her journey at Xavier College Preparatory by attending their summer school program. Pre-Algebra was a requirement of her acceptance, and she tackled it with determination. It was a great opportunity for her to get a head start and become familiar with her new school.
Meanwhile, Aiden participated in Brophy College Preparatory’s Summer Enrichment program. He balanced his time between a High School Placement Test (HSPT) prep course, weight training, and robotics. Aiden’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning were evident, and he’s excited about applying what he learned as he prepares for 8th grade.
Lacrosse Tournament in Commerce City, Colorado
From June 14-16, Aiden competed in a lacrosse tournament in Commerce City, Colorado, with Hot Sauce Lacrosse. Josh and Aiden flew out on Friday morning, and Madilyn and I joined them later in the day after her summer school class. Watching Aiden play against talented teams in such a beautiful setting was a highlight of the trip.
While in Colorado, we visited one of Josh’s commercial development projects, Stanley Marketplace. The vibrant space was a fantastic mix of shops, dining, and local businesses. We also connected with Jodi and Kelly for a delightful dinner, making the trip even more special.
NABIP National Conference in Chicago
From June 22-26, I attended the NABIP National Conference in Chicago. The conference was both inspiring and educational, with highlights including dining at The Bazaar Meat Experience, enjoying a show at Nitti’s Supper Club, and attending the prestigious Gordon Award Dinner. It was an incredible experience to connect with industry leaders and bring back new insights to my work.
Lacrosse Tournament in Irvine, California
The month concluded with another lacrosse tournament, this time in Irvine, California, from June 28-30. Aiden and his team played hard and celebrated some well-earned victories. It’s always exciting to see his growth and passion for the sport.
Farewell to the Vorobiofs
After the Irvine tournament, we made our way to Calabasas to say goodbye to the Vorobiofs. They are embarking on a new chapter in Florida, and we wanted to send them off with love and memories. GG joined us for a big farewell barbecue, making the day a bittersweet yet meaningful celebration of family and friendship.
Reflecting on June
June 2024 was a whirlwind of learning, travel, and connection. From Madilyn and Aiden’s academic endeavors to family travels and heartfelt goodbyes, the month was a testament to the importance of growth and togetherness. As summer continues, we look forward to more adventures and opportunities to create memories.
