July 2022 ~ Summer Escapades

Summer travels and unforgettable memories continued for our family in July.  We road-tripped to explore new mountainous cities.  We had the opportunity to visit out of state family members.  The kids returned back to their happy place, Camp Stein, for almost the entire month of July.  Josh and I took advantage of not having any kids at home and explored Cannon Beach, Oregon, located in the Pacific Northwest.  We also enjoyed a little wine tasting in Cottonwood, Arizona, with my fellow BGA co-workers.  These experiences made the hot summer pass by more quickly and provided us cherished memories.

Family Road Trip ~ Colorado
After Aiden's lacrosse tournament in Salt Lake City, we continued the family road trip to Colorado for Josh's grandfather's 100th birthday party (six months early).  We decided to stay in Ft. Collins to explore a new mountain city.  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  We explored the charming downtown.  We spoiled ourselves with baked goods and sweets.  And of course, we indulged in some brewery hopping, including the iconic New Belgium brewery.  We also reconnected with the Johnson family aunts and uncles.  We let our silly side come out.  What a great family fun day!

Grandpa David's 100th Birthday Party
On Saturday, July 2nd, we drove to Loveland, Colorado, to celebrate Grandpa David Landers' 100th birthday (six months early).  The entire Landers clan gathered at a gazebo at his assisted living home.  The buffet full of food was overwhelming and we had a giant birthday cake in his honor.  Our kids (especially Madi) took the opportunity to sit and connect with their Great-Grandpa knowing this could be the last time that we would be able to visit him in person for awhile. We captured the event by obtaining family photos with Grandpa Landers.  So glad that we had a moment to engage with family that we do not see very often.

Camp Stein
Our kids embarked on a month-long journey of discovery and camaraderie at Camp Stein in Prescott. Surrounded by nature's beauty, they engaged in a myriad of activities, from hiking and arts and crafts to team-building exercises. The bonds forged and skills honed during this time will undoubtedly stay with them for years to come.

Wine Tasting with BGA Collogues
As a precursor to the BGA annual mid-year sales meeting, Josh and I accompanied my colleagues for a delightful wine-tasting expedition in Cottonwood, Arizona.  We previewed the flavors of local wines and reveled in the company of friends. The vineyard vistas and the laughter shared over a glass of wine created an atmosphere of pure joy.

Couple Trip to Cannon Beach, OR
Josh and I embarked on an extended weekend escape to Cannon Beach, Oregon. The rugged coastline, framed by majestic cliffs and serene waters, provided the perfect setting for relaxation. Long walks along the beach, watching the sunset over Haystack Rock, hiking the dense Oregon shoreline, wine tasting in Willamette Valley, and embracing the coastal tranquility were just what we needed to recharge our spirits.
