Happy 26th Anniversary, GG & GP!

On August 15th, 2019, Selma and Stanley Price (GG & GP) celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary.  In honor of this occasion, some of their family decided to gather together for brunch on the Sunday following their momentous day.  Josh and I drove in with the kids on Friday night so that we could spend a little extra time with them.  Selma's daughter's families were also in attendance.  Dione, Katz and Becky were already visiting from Israel.  Lori and Richard came down from Camarillo on Saturday, so we were able to visit with them a little extra as well.  And Alisa, Gabriel and the kids came down from Calabasas on Sunday morning.  The weekend was full of love, laughter, a couple of rounds of Blackjack (Stan was a card shark that day!), good food, good wine and conversation poolside at the Ayers Hotel, and kids playing happily together.  It was a great way to commemorate twenty-six amazing years of marriage for two people that we absolutely adore. Picture Day 2019!

We did our own little photo shoot on the morning of school picture day.  I just cannot believe how "grown-up" my kids are becoming.  Wish I could stop time so they could stay "little" for a tad bit longer.  Enjoy! Madilyn Rae Aiden Price Siblings Madi and Sadie The "real" school photos

Region 7 Conference ~ Santa Fe, NM

The NAHU Region 7 meeting was held in Santa Fe, New Mexico, this year in August.  As always, it was very educational and a ton of fun.  The agenda for the two days was packed full of information on how to run an effective chapter and industry specific issues.  I was honored to be one of the presenters this year on NAHU's legislative support that we give to the local chapters.  I also created a fun NAHU Jeopardy! game that we played on Thursday afternoon which was very spirited at times.  On Friday morning, we also enjoyed a great Medicare for All debate between Marcy Buckner, NAHU's vice president of government affairs, and Bernie Sanders aka Ray Magnuson.  Both sides did a great job showing the pros and cons of this highly promoted healthcare topic.  It was insightful and a very scary. Thursday evening, many of the attendees attended the planned social event.  It was at a steakhouse called Rio Chama.  The evening included dinner and live entertainment by a small ensemble of

Back to School ~ August 2019

On Monday, August 5th, the Farrell-Landers children started attending a new school -- Lookout Mountain (LOM) Elementary School in the Washington Elementary School District.  Switching schools was a hard decision for Josh and I to make, but we felt that this school would allow both of our children equal opportunity to excel in school while also giving them (and the entire family) more of a home/school/extra-curricular activity balance.  We also were hoping to give us a little more sense of community.  So far, so good!  I'm really hoping they love being a Lookout Mountain Lion! We attended the kids "Meet the Teacher" night before school resumed, and both kids seem to have great teachers this year.   Aiden is in Mrs. Billings' Buccaneers third grade class and Madilyn is in Mrs. Freeman's Firecrackers fourth grade class.   They also seemed to have quite a few kids they already knew because our kids have attended the LOM's KidSpace program during these past few s

A Fun Family Sunday!

On the last Sunday before school started, we took the kids to one of the Arizona Diamondback's afternoon games.  It was Jewish Community Day at the park.  Notice the kids hats.  They are in Hebrew.  Sadly, baseball games still bore my children.  I am not sure that we even made it seven innings.  Luckily, the snow cones kept them entertained for a bit. After the game, we headed over to Teresa and Gary's home for family dinner.  We played some games and had some lively conversation.  And we celebrated Aiden's birthday (a little early).  What a nice day to end summer break before the kids went back to school.
