Today, Madilyn officially turns "1". Our baby is now a toddler. We cannot believe how fast the year has flown. This is a bittersweet transition -- we will miss our little baby even as we delight in watching our amazing child reach each new milestone ahead of her. What a fun ride awaits! We love you, Madi!
Madilyn's stats as of this visit were:
Here are some of Madi's favorite things to do:
As a special part of her birthday celebration, we visited the pediatrician for her 12 month check-up. How could I schedule a doctor's visit on her birthday!?! Well, it just happen to fit into our schedule. Plus, why not? The visit went well and Madi is progressing in her childhood very nicely. She received a couple more vaccinations which only made her cry for a short bit.
Madilyn's stats as of this visit were:
- Head circumference - 17.5" (37th percentile)
- Height - 29.25" (54th percentile)
- Weight - 21.21 pounds (78th percentile)
- Eat everything ... and I mean EVERYTHING! This child's palette is amazing. She has tried and enjoyed Chinese food, Indian food, Mexican food, and German food. So far, there is not a single thing she hasn't eaten.
- Pushing things ... she loves pushing her car and walker all around the house.
- Talking ... so far, she has said "mama", dada", "doggie", "hi", "mmm" (when she sees food), and, of course, the inevitable "no".
- Strolling and walking ... yes, toddlerhood is here.
- Playing with the TV remote and telephone. She is slowly understanding the concept of the phone and will say "hi" whenever Josh and I are talking on it.
- Enjoys feeding the dogs by throwing her food deliberately to the floor so they can eat what she is supposed to be eating.
- Loves to knock down Daddy's block towers and even laughs after doing this.
- And occasionally likes to *cuddle* with Mommy and Daddy!
