Day 3 ~ Disney's Animal Kingdom

Day three of our Walt Disney World vacation was spent in the Animal Kingdom.  What a really amazing park!  It is like a zoo, but with rides, roller coasters and shows.  Personally, this was probably my second favorite Disney park.  We started the day bright and early arriving at the park when it opened. The first ride we enjoyed was the Kilimanjaro Safari.  It was a fun ride and the kids were able to see a ton of animals pretty close up.  We then headed across the park to the roller coaster Expedition Everest.  I am so glad we did.  Best part -- it goes backwards.  Worst part -- the kids were not really fans.  Then, we headed over to DinoLand USA to enjoy TriceraTop Spin, Primeval Whirl, The Boneyard and Dinosaur.  Before having our character lunch at Tusker House (which was one of the best meals of the trip), we enjoyed walking around the Maharajah Jungle Trek and the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail learning and viewing some more exotic animals.  We also enjoyed watching some birds during the Flights of Wonder show. After lunch, we concluded the day with two more shows - The Festival of the Lion King and Bugs Life.

We retired back to the hotel early, ordered a pizza from room service and watched a movie until bedtime.
