Shabbat

Knowing that our calendars are especially busy in the fall, we decided to dedicate at least one or two Fridays a month to observe Shabbat.  This allows us to slow down a little and connect with each other again after a crazy week full of work, homework and activities.  We celebrate Shabbat by lighting candles, eating challah, drinking some grape juice or wine, enjoying dinner as a family, and finishing the evening with a family activity (watching a movie, playing a game, etc.).  These evenings have become some of my most favorite family moments and I am so glad that we have integrated them into our busy schedules.
