The Queen of Copper City ... Bisbee, Arizona

Last month, Josh and I had the opportunity to get away for a "Couples" weekend with some friends. We had an amazing time despite some of the car challenges some of us experienced.  On our way down to Bisbee, we all stopped in Sonoita to indulge in some Southern Arizona wine tasting and wine purchasing.  After visiting three wineries, our next stop, on the way to Bisbee, was the Crystal Palace Saloon in Tombstone for a beer.  After fully enjoying the Wild West, we then headed to Bisbee for dinner at Table.  It was after dinner that Josh and I discovered that we had a flat tire.  So, in the dark by the light of his cellphone flashlight, Josh exchanged the flat tire for the spare.  One would have thought that would have put a damper in our night, but no, after we checked into and unpacked our suitcases at the rental house, we headed out to St. Elmo Bar for a couple more drinks and dancing.

The next morning Josh and I drove out early to the Sierra Vista Discount Tire to take care of our tire issue.  Discount Tire validated that our tire was slashed, not punctured, just as we suspected.  The attendant as Discount Tire said that slashed tires happen all the time in Bisbee.  "It's a thing."  We just couldn't believe that someone would just slash our tire.  Oh well, I guess there is a first for everything.  After an hour in Sierra Vista, we had our new tire, so we headed back on the road to Bisbee so that we could join up with everyone for breakfast at the Bisbee Breakfast Club.  The rest of the day was spent shopping, day drinking, exploring Bisbee, more day drinking, more shoping, a little ice cream, drinking at happy hour, a chocolate tasting event to benefit the Friends of the Copper Queen Library, an amazing dinner at Cafe Roka, and dancing into the wee hours of the night.  We can say that we thoroughly enjoyed and experienced Bisbee.

On Sunday, we all headed back to Phoenix after breakfast.  However, that was not the end of our adventure.  About an hour into our trip home, we received a call from the rest of our party. Apparently, it was Greg's turn to get a flat tire.  But, his tire situation was a little more complicated than ours.  He has run flat tires on the BMW and no spare tire in his trunk.  Josh and I quickly re-routed our travels to meet up with everyone in the very small town of St. David, Arizona, to assess the situation.  While waiting for the tow truck, it was decided that the ladies would head back to Phoenix leaving the guys to handle the tire situation.  The guys had the truck tow Greg's car to Benson, Arizona, because the truck's fee was over a $1 a mile and Phoenix or Tucson would just be too expensive of a tow.  It was at that moment the guys decided they would just leave the car at Walmart and drive all the way to Scottsdale to obtain the only run flat tires they could find in Arizona, then drive all the way back to Benson to change out the flat tire, and then head back home to Phoenix with a stop in Tucson for dinner.  Much to say, the last day of the vacation was anything but for the guys. However, Josh said it provided them some quality male bonding time.

This little weekend trip was definitely unforgettable, adventurous and fun!
