Our Family Christmas

This quote sums up our Christmas holiday so perfectly.  For the entire two-day holiday celebration, family was the focus.  We could not be more blessed to be able to spend our holiday with both of our families.

We spent Christmas Eve with my parents (and Oma) at their home.  It was a lovely celebration.  We opened gifts, enjoyed a delicious meal and played a little game of Jenga.  And the evening concluded with the annual Christmas Eve present -- matching family pajamas.

Christmas morning, Josh and I awoke at seven in the morning pleasantly surprised and shocked that we were not disturbed by our children.  So, we enjoyed some coffee and conversation as we waited for the children to rise.  Aiden was the first to come down the stairs.  Let me just say, his first response was not exactly what we were hoping for.

After a little cup of milk the crying subsided and Aiden was ready to see what Santa brought him.

Here is Madilyn's response to her Santa gifts upon waking up ...

Although the kids' reactions may not have been exactly what we were hoping for, the morning was still fun, relaxing and filled with laughter.

We enjoyed our last celebration with the Landers family in the afternoon after nap-time.  We opened presents, enjoyed a Christmas feast and ended the evening with a family game.

We really could not have asked for a more family-filled holiday.  It truly embodied the true spirit of Christmas.
