Madi's 9th Birthday

Miss Madi turned nine this year.  NINE!  Her last single digit year.  What can I tell you about Miss Madi?  Well, she is becoming quite the young little lady.  She is becoming so independent and self-reliant.  It is a hard thing to swall ow as a parent, but I wouldn't want it any other way.  Madilyn loves life.  She is a happy-go-lucky kid, most of the time.  She is very caring and likes to help everyone.  Other words to describe Madilyn right now are loving, considerate, caring, helpful, strong, joyful, emotional, loving, loyal, creative, fashionable and social.  She enjoys school, even when it is hard, and she has more homework than her brother.  I am amazed at her determination and persistence to learn and grow as a student.  She spends her after school weekdays participating in various activities including yoga, swimming, and tennis.

For the past couple of year, Madilyn has wanted to host her birthday party at the American Girl Store.  I love that she still enjoys playing and pretending with her dolls.  So, this year, Madilyn invited her three best friends and their dolls to celebrate her birthday with her.  The party included a private party room, an American Girl Doll hair stylist who transformed the girls' dolls' hair into an adorable masterpiece, games and a take-home craft, and cake plus ice cream.  Madilyn and her girlfriends loved it.  It was such a special day.
