Camp Stein 2019

On the first Tuesday of summer, our kids had the opportunity to return back to Camp Stein, a Jewish sleep-away camp.  They had attended last year and really wanted to go again, so we sent them back for two full weeks of fun.

Just like last year, we dropped them off at Congregation Beth Israel where the buses departed for Camp Stein.  Once at camp, the kids enjoyed a wide variety of activities.  They participated in everything:  archery, swimming, horseback riding, ziplining, crossing a ropes course, performing in a play, dancing, gardening, arts and crafts, and tons of different sports including Ga-Ga (a Jewish variation of dodgeball).  They loved it all!  And luckily, I was able to have a small glimpse into their daily activities through all of the photos that were shared through the camp's parent portal and the couple of letters that were sent home.

No doubt this will become a summer tradition for our kids.  The time they spent at camp allowed them to spread their wings just a little bit, gain some well-needed life skills, appreciate what they have at home and develop some great friendships along the way.  Let's hope we can continue this amazing tradition for them.
