In early October, we visited one of our happy places with our good friends, the Pattees, to celebrate Jamie's fortieth birthday. We drove over together from Arizona on Thursday, stayed at the Vinland Hotel in Solvang, and spent two days exploring wineries and eateries together until we drove home on Sunday.
On day one, we introduced Jamie and Nate to one of our favorite wineries, Roblar. After our mid-day wine tasting and lunch, we explored Solvang a little, enjoyed a wine tasting Royal Oaks Winery Tasting Room and dined at Mad & Vin that evening.
We began day two with a nice breakfast at Succulent Cafe before heading out to a couple more wineries We started our wine tasting day at Fess Parker. We then visited Los Olivos to stretch our legs and sightsee. We lunched at Petros Winery and concluded our day at Rideau Vineyard where we played cards while enjoying the beautiful weather and wine tasting. Our last stop of the day was the Gathering Table at Ballard Inn for dinner. What a way to celebrate!
