February 2023

February was a whirlwind of activities and special moments for our family. Here's a detailed look back at some of the highlights from this memorable month.

Aiden at the Valentine's Dance:
Aiden and his friends attended the Valentine’s Dance for Junior Assembly, a much-anticipated event where they got to dress up and enjoy an evening of fun and dancing. The boys and girls looked so grown up and cute in their formal attire. It was heartwarming to see them having such a great time, making memories with their friends. The evening was filled with music, laughter, and a lot of dancing, making it a memorable experience for Aiden and his friends.

Greek and Roman Day at Lookout Mountain Elementary:
In 6th grade at Lookout Mountain Elementary School, the kids dive into Greek and Roman history, mythology, and literature. As a fun way to end this curriculum, the school organizes a Greek and Roman Day. The kids dress up in togas and participate in activities and enjoy food centered around this theme. Aiden looked excited in his toga, ready to embrace the ancient cultures. The day included various activities such as reenacting famous myths, tasting foods like olives and pita bread, and even trying out ancient Greek sports. It was a fantastic educational experience that brought history to life for the students.

Aiden's Box Lacrosse Journey:
Aiden participated on the Arizona Outlaws/Cali*Lax box lacrosse team at the 2023 Winter Nationals hosted in Phoenix. It was his first-ever box tournament, and despite being new to the format, Aiden played fairly well. His team placed third in their division. Aiden learned a lot from the experience, honing his skills and gaining valuable insights into the game. The tournament was a weekend filled with intense matches, team bonding, and a lot of cheering from proud parents. Aiden's dedication and hard work were evident, and it was wonderful to see him grow as an athlete.

Madilyn's Cheer Competitions:
Madilyn had two major cheer competitions this month with her Arizona Prestige Cheer team. The first competition was the Valley of the Sun event, where Madilyn and her team showcased their skills with precision and enthusiasm. The energy and excitement were palpable as they performed their routine flawlessly. The second competition was a WSA cheer event, which was equally thrilling. Madilyn's dedication to her team and her sport shone through as she executed her moves with grace and strength. Watching her perform was a proud moment for us, as she continues to excel and enjoy her passion for cheerleading.

Valentine’s Day Themed Shabbat:
We celebrated a Valentine’s Day themed Shabbat the Friday prior to Valentine’s Day, blending our family traditions with a touch of romance. The table was decorated with red and pink accents, candles, and heart-shaped decorations. We enjoyed a special dinner together, sharing stories and expressing our love and appreciation for each other. It was a beautiful evening filled with warmth, laughter, and the joy of being together as a family. The combination of Shabbat traditions and Valentine’s Day festivities made it a unique and memorable celebration.

Aiden's Arrowhead Warriors and Family Fitness:
Aiden’s Arrowhead Warriors recreational team continued to play on Saturdays throughout February. The camaraderie among the lacrosse families is growing, creating a supportive community. These families have become part of our extended family, and we cherish the time spent together at the games. We even took it a step further by organizing joint workout sessions with the parents while the boys had their own session with a personal trainer. It was a fun and healthy way to bond, and it added an extra layer of enjoyment to our weekends. The boys are improving their skills, and we parents are staying active and connected.

Jenn's Professional Achievement:
Jenn was honored to be asked to participate on Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Partner Insight Panel during their Ignite Conference. This recognition of her expertise and contributions was a proud moment for all of us. The panel was an opportunity for Jenn to share her insights and collaborate with other industry leaders. Her participation in such a prestigious event reflects her dedication and hard work in her professional life. We celebrated this achievement as a family, recognizing the balance Jenn maintains between her career and our family life.

Madilyn's 13th Birthday Celebration:
Madilyn turned 13 this month, marking a significant milestone. We celebrated with her favorite dinner choice—revolving sushi at Sushi on Tatum. The evening was filled with delicious food, laughter, and a lot of sushi plates. After dinner, we headed to Soda Jerk for dessert, where Madilyn enjoyed her favorite treats. Her special day started with her favorite drink from Starbucks, making her feel cherished and loved from the moment she woke up. It was a wonderful celebration, and we were delighted to see her so happy on her big day.

Jenn's Capitol Conference Experience:
Jenn attended the annual Capitol Conference of the National Association of Benefit and Insurance Professionals (NABIP) in Washington, DC. The conference kicked off with a fun 1980s themed party, allowing attendees to relax and enjoy some nostalgic fun. Jenn had the opportunity to meet with Representative Schweikert and Senator Sinema, discussing important healthcare issues and potential solutions.  As a Capitol Club PAC Members, Jenn was also able to socialize with Representative Lesko.  It was a valuable experience, allowing Jenn to contribute to meaningful conversations and advocate for better healthcare policies. Her dedication to her work and her ability to make a difference are truly inspiring.

February was filled with milestones, achievements, and cherished moments. We look forward to many more adventures and memories in the coming months!
