Laguna Woods Trip ~ Disney Character Breakfast

Anytime we are in the Los Angeles area, we strive to see as many of my sorority sisters as we can.  Because I have amazing and wonderful sorority sisters they, in return, make every effort to spend time with us when I announce that we will be near them.  For this, I am so grateful.  I appreciate the time they take from their daily busy lives so that we can all be our little sisterhood again, even if it is for only a short while.

Our past trip to California in May was no exception.  The Palmer sisters and their families enjoyed Sunday brunch together at Storyteller's Cafe in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.  It is otherwise known as the Chip 'n Dale "Critter Breakfast”.  At the Chip ’n Dale Critter Breakfast, animal friends from beloved Disney films dropped by our table to say hello and be photographed with the kids.  We were visited by Dale, Koda and Kenai from Brother Bear, and Meeko the raccoon from Pocahontas.  The kids also were able to participate in an interactive conga line through the restaurant.  It was a very fun experience for us all.

How did the Landers kids fair with all of these character visits?  At first, neither of our kids, were big fans.  In fact, a few tears may have been shed and some definite crossed looks.  However, when Madi spotted "Goofy" (who was actually Pluto) across the restaurant, she called out his name and was so excited for him to visit our table.  It was adorable!  Aiden, on the otherhand, never really made friends with any of the characters.  Note to self:  I guess we need to watch more Disney movies before we visit Disneyland, so that they will be more comfortable with the characters and want to hang out with them.

After brunch, we all decided to take a walk around Downtown Disney to let the kids expend some energy and let the adults chat some more.  A little shopping may have occurred in the Lego Store when Madi noticed a Cinderella Carriage Building Set and then Aiden wanted a car building set too.  We figured they needed a little souvenir.

Palmer Sisters, thank you for spending your morning with me and my family.  I miss you and appreciate every little moment we have to spend time together.  Until the next time ...
