Festival at the Falls

One of our favorite community holiday events we like to attend is the Pointe Tapatio's Festival at the Falls.  It is an amazing holiday event where the kids are able to indulge in holiday sweets and warm hot chocolate while strolling through a festive village of cabanas featuring holiday-themed activities, treats, kids cookie decorating, putt-putt golf and other arts and crafts.  The kids are also able to meet, get their photo with and share their holiday wishes with Santa Claus.

This year, we had one of the kids' neighborhood friends with us, Jake.  We arrived at the event early so we could stake our place in line to see Santa.  Josh and I took turns waiting in line while the other one walked the kids around to all of the cabanas so they participate in all of the activities and snacks.

Once Santa arrived, the kids quickly re-joined the line so they could meet him and take a photo with him.  Aiden was so excited!  He kept jumping around and telling everyone around us what he was going to ask Santa for Christmas -- a Spider Man motorcycle.  Madi was less enthused.  In fact, she has never really been a huge fan of Santa.  Jake didn't really know what to think of all of this commotion.  When it was our kids turn, Aiden ran right up to Santa's lap so the picture could be captured and the gift list could be delivered.  After Aiden, it was Madi's turn.  She refused to see Santa on her own.  She only wanted a photo if Aiden and Jake accompanied her.  We then had Jake take a Santa photo on his own.  The look he has in the photo is priceless.  He is not crying, however, he isn't really happy about it either.  Overall, we will call the night a success.  Two out of the three kids took photos with Santa, no tears were shed and fun was had by all.
