May 2022

May is a month of celebrations.  We celebrate Moms.  We celebrate the end of school.  We celebrate the onset of summer vacation.  We celebrate love and birthdays.  We celebrated Aiden making his first travel lacrosse team.  We also had the opportunity to celebrate Jenn's company's successes in 2021.  What an incredible month for the entire family!

Mother's Day 2022
We celebrated with Grandma Farrell by attending the Moon Valley Country Club's Mother's Day Brunch.  The food was wonderful.  Everyone had a great time!

BGA Appreciation Event
In appreciation for the BGA staff for reaching our 2021 company financial goal, BGA paid for every employee and their significant other to attend a weekend event at WeKoPa Casino Resort in Fort McDowell.  On Saturday night, we enjoyed a hoedown with a barbequed meal and line dancing.

Team 48 Lacrosse
Aiden's travel lacrosse team kicked off the summer season with an overnight training event at Arizona Christian University.

Last Day of School
The kids' last day of school was on May 24th, 2022.  It was also Madilyn's last day attending Lookout Mountain Elementary School.  Aiden will have the opportunity to be the only Landers kid at LOM next school year.

Sixth Grade Sendoff
As a tradition, the sixth graders complete their last walk through the halls of LOM on the last day of school.  It is called the Sixth Grade Sendoff.  Each sixth grader gets the opportunity to say goodbye to all of their friends and teachers for one last time.  Their walk ends on the playground surrounded by all of the sixth grade parents.  I get teared up just writing about this rite of passage.  I cannot believe how quickly time passes.  Madilyn, we are so proud of your accomplishments and cannot wait to see what dreams you will fulfill in middle school.

Jackie & Richard's Backyard Wedding
On May 22nd, 2022, we celebrated the love of Jackie and Richard by hosting a small family wedding in our backyard.  Josh officiated.  I was the photographer.  And our kids were attendees along with all of their kids and relatives.  They exchanged their own vows.  They smashed some glass.  Richard kissed the bride.  The food was catered by their favorite restaurant, Dick's Hideaway.  They danced their first dance on the pool patio deck.  They cut their wedding cake together.  And the evening ended with a fully clothed blended family jump into our pool.  It was simple and extremely beautiful.  We wish the all the love and happiness in the world!

Memorial Day
We spent the holiday with friends as we may not see many of them often this summer as we have a ton of travel lacrosse and Jewish summer camp on the horizon.  It was great to just swim and enjoy the time off.
