November 2022

November was a month filled with exciting activities, achievements, and quality time spent together. As always, we wanted to capture these precious memories to look back on with joy and gratitude. So, here's a glimpse into our busy and fulfilling November:

Madilyn's Cheerleading Journey:
In mid-October after a multi-day tryout, Madilyn made the Mountain Sky Junior High School cheerleading team! There were over 70 applicants.  As a MJHS cheerleader, she cheers enthusiastically for the 7th and 8th-grade boys' basketball teams, both at home and during their away games. In November, she would often cheer at least two of the five weekdays for the games.  We did our best to support her and the boys.  Watching the cheerleaders' halftime routines became our favorite part of the games.

Aiden's Junior Assembly Adventure:
Aiden embarked on his Junior Assembly (JA) journey in November. It was a delightful surprise that many of his friends from elementary school also chose to participate. JA runs from November through February and focuses on teaching children social awareness and good manners. It's heartwarming to see Aiden develop kindness and graciousness.

Honoring Our Veterans:
Aiden, as a member of Lookout Mountain Elementary school student council, took a leadership role in organizing the school's Veteran's Day Assembly and Breakfast. He invited our beloved Uncle Terry, an army veteran, and Aunt Rhonda to attend. The assembly was a touching tribute to our veterans, filled with songs and heartfelt gratitude for their sacrifices.  After the assembly, Aiden and his fellow StuCo members served the veterans breakfast.  It was a very beautiful morning honoring those who have served our country.

Time Spent with Friends:
Our month was not only about school and activities; we also cherished time with friends. Madilyn attended Lark's birthday party, Josh and I had a blast playing pickleball with Warrior lacrosse parents, and I enjoyed a women's event with CJP. We even had the pleasure of reuniting with my college roommate, Toni, who was in Phoenix for work. And of course, we spent quality time with the Pattee family.

California Adventure for Lacrosse:
We embarked on a road trip to California for Aiden's Team 48 travel lacrosse tournament in Irvine, CA, known as the OC Fall Brawl. Although the boys didn't make the winners bracket, it was heartwarming to see Aunt Kathleen cheering on Aiden and his teammates.

Thanksgiving Delight:
When the annual holiday arrived, we hosted a warm and welcoming Thanksgiving gathering for our family and friends. The day was filled with delicious traditional food, exciting games like cornhole and foosball, and, of course, some football watching on the backyard patio.
On the day after Thanksgiving, we extended our holiday by visiting Josh's parents, sister, brother-in-law, and nephews. It was a perfect way to wrap up our Thanksgiving celebration.

November 2022 was a month brimming with accomplishments, togetherness, and gratitude. We feel incredibly blessed to have each other and to share these beautiful moments with you. As we move into December and the holiday season, we are excited to create even more cherished memories together.
