6 Months Old

Can you believe how fast our little man is growing up?  The past six months have passed by so quickly and I have been terrible at updating the blog about his growth and development.  Well, our baby boy turned six months old this past weekend.  Here are the stats from his well baby visit with the pediatrician on Monday.  We have such a big boy!!!

Weight: 19 pounds, 3 ounces (80th percentile)
Height: 27.5" (84th percentile)
Head Circumference: 17.25cm (66th percentile)

Six Months Well Baby Visit

Like I said, I have been terrible about posting stats from his previous well baby checks.  Here are his stats from his 4 month old pediatrician visit.  Can you believe how much he has grown?

Weight: 16 pounds, 14 ounces (78th percentile)
Height: 25.25" (54th percentile)
Head Circumference: 16.5cm (59th percentile)

Four Month Well Baby Visit

Aiden has changed so much.  It amazes me how they change from this tiny, little, helpless baby into this little person who laughs, giggles, and wants to be a part of the world around him.  He has such a good temperment.  Smiles most of the time and it is pretty infectious.

Here are some random facts about Aiden that we have learned in the past couple of months:
  • Aiden is teething. Drool is everywhere.  Although, no actual teeth have broken through.  He chews on everything now.
  • Bathtime – he loves it as long as his sister doesn’t pour too much water on him. He bathes right in the big bathtub and loves to “swim” all over the place. Kick, kick, kick …
  • Loves to play with his toes. He has just discovered them and is very intent on bringing them to his mouth.
  • Rolled over for the first tim eon January 25th in the middle of the night.  Of course, it was at 4:30am and his parents were not around to see it, but he let Mommy know that he was done being on his tummy and I had to go flip him back over.  This was a regular nightly routine for a couple of weeks.
  • Has incorporated solid foods into his diet. At first, he was not at all impressed and didn’t want to open his mouth. Now he calls out as if he is saying hey, I am ready to eat more.  Although, when it comes down to it, he rather just drink from the bottle.
  • Started sitting up all by himself and does it for a while before he loses his balance.
  • Loves jumping up and down in his exersaucer.  He is so funny!  Just smiles and laughs while he bounces and bounces.
  • Enjoys honking the horn in his “car walker”.
  • Began officially sleeping through the night right before the holidays.
  • Aiden is not a huge fan of his pacifier.  He'd rather suck on his two middle fingers at the same time. Adorable! And yet, this could be a problem later.  Not sure how to take those away from him later.
  • Discovered that he loves watching TV – especially football and sports.
  • Has begun talking and babbling and screeching.
  • Loves when his sister plays with him or at least pays attention to him.  He is so mezmorized.
  • He so cuddledly.  You just want to snuggle with him all the time like a teddy bear.  And boy does he love to be held!
  • His eyes have changed to a more green/hazel color.  We will have to see if they will remain that color.
  • Lastly, he is such a mover.  He constantly is grabbing for toys and anything within his grasp.  When you change his diaper, be careful.  He squirms all over the place and it takes twice as long to change him.  And you have to make sure he won't roll off the changing table.

He really is big! Isn't it fun to watch them grow up and see the differences between the siblings. By the way, #2 never gets as many photos or blogs - just not enough time. And it there's a #3, forget it - barely recorded! Anyway, good to read the latest. Enjoy the cuddles while they last.
