It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like ... Chrismukkah

The Friday after Thanksgiving is religiously the day that I decorate the house for Christmas and Hanukkah (or as we refer to it - Chrismukkah).  Out goes all of the fall decorations and in come all of the winter holiday decorations.  We have two trees, one symbolizing each holiday we celebrate.  And all of the other home decor becomes red and silver or blue and silver.  Everything from the stockings to the tablecloths and even the kitchen towels.  While I decorate, the house if filled with the songs of the holidays.  This is the beginning of the holiday season for me.

The kids even received their own tree this year.  They had so much fun decorating it themselves without any parental support.  Josh added some holiday lights for them in the playroom as well.  They were so excited!

As the final holiday decorating task, we trim the trees with ornaments altogether.  I am proud to say that we only had one ornament break this year.  So much better than in years past.  Yeah!  And after the trees were completed, we watched a holiday show and drank hot chocolate.  What a way to welcome in the holiday season!
