This year's Halloween family costume theme was Harry Potter characters. We have been reading the series and watching the series as a family. The kids thought it would be fun to be the characters this year. Aiden was Harry. Madilyn was Hermione. Josh was Newt Scamander from the Fantastic Beast series. And I was Professor Trelawney. We looked pretty cute!
Instead of trick or treating in our own neighborhood this year, we decided to join our good friends, the Raetz family, in their neighborhood in Arcadia. This particular neighborhood closes down the streets so the kids could just run from house to house without fear of being hit by a car while trick or treating. This allowed the kids to visit more houses and collect more candy this year. It was mayhem, but safe. The kids loved it!
