Halloween 2020

How to celebrate Halloween during a pandemic?  Dress up as the grim reaper and a vampiress!  That's right, my kids no longer wished to be cute and dress in delightful or happy costumes.  They wanted to represent death and evil.  They still looked pretty cute even if they were trying to look scary.

This year, we spent Halloween with the Langhofers at their home in FQ Story.  This is one of the historic neighborhoods in Phoenix.  Typically, this neighborhood is overloaded with trick or treaters, but not this year.  It was eerily quiet.  Don't worry, the kids still collected plenty of candy and treats, but it was not the same vibe as in year's past.

As for the adults, we had a very low key and relaxing evening.  Admired costumes of the few trick or treaters that visited.  Enjoyed good conversation and ate chili by the fire.  And ate cupcakes to celebrate my birthday.  A pretty good evening overall.
