Hanukkah 2020

This year for Hanukkah, we were very blessed to share five out of the eight nights celebrating with friends and family.  Here is a recap of how we spent our Hanukkah holiday this year.

Night 1 ~ Hanukkah with the Feldmans
On night one, we rented a carriage to view the special Hanukkah lights at Salt River Fields' Holiday Lights.  The carriage was electric and we were able to stop along the route to take pictures.  We even stopped to light a menorah and sing a song with Rabbi Allouche who was out there for the evening to bless the event.  What a unique experience!

Night 2 ~ Hanukkah with Dad
The second night of Hanukkah was also my dad's birthday.  Since the candles and menorahs are portable, we transported them over to my parent's home for the night.  We lit the candles, consumed Mom's homemade stroganoff, indulged in a slice of Nothin' Bundt Cake and relished in some quality family time.

Night 3 ~ Hanukkah with the Langhofers
Again, we transported the candles and menorahs to the Langhofer's home to celebrate Hanukkah with them and also decorate gingerbread houses.  We consumed latkes and brisket and a lot of candy.  It was a delightful holiday celebration.

Night 4 ~ Hanukkah at Home
On Sunday evening, we spent Hanukkah at home, just the four of us.  The kids had received a Hanukkah craft kit from PJ Library and decided to color their Hanukkah t-shirts that evening.  We lit our candles, opened presents and finished the evening with the final episode of the Mandalorian.  Super chill and very relaxing!

Night 5 ~ Hanukkah with the Lorenzes
This fall, the kids have been attending a parkour class with Lark and Marshall.  Parkour is like an obstacle course which involves running, climbing, jumping, gymnastics, and other movements.  The kids usually attend on Monday late afternoon and after class Holly drops them at home.  So, after the kids went to class, we decided to host their family for Hanukkah.  We did a latke bar.  We tried out several different toppings for the latkes.  And then we taught them how to play dreidel.  It was fun getting to know our kids' friends and their parents a little more

Night 8 ~ Hanukkah with Kaitlyn
We spent the last night of Hanukkah with Kaitlyn, the kids' nanny that we hired in 2017.  I am so glad that we have kept in contact with her.  It was so nice catching up with her and celebrating our last night with her.
