Farrell's Quest for Fun! ~ Day 1

The first ever Farrell's Quest for Fun (FQFF) was in August 1985 in Grand Mesa, Colorado.  FQFF was created as a specific camping trip for the Farrell family to spend time quality time together during the hustle and bustle of raising kids.

Through the years, our FQFF has evolved into an extended weekend full of games, fishing, story-telling, bantering, laughing, and creating new family memories.  There have been other FQFF gatherings in the past thirty years, but our last one was over thirteen years ago, so the "kids" of the original FQFF families decided to organized our next FQFF reunion.  It was held this past July at Vallecito Lake in Colorado.  It was so nice to have all of the Farrells together again, even if only for a couple of days.

Each Farrell family rented their own cabin at Vallecito Lake.  During the day, everyone had free time to participate in activities of their own choice like golf, fishing, paddle boarding, horse-back riding, hiking, white water rafting, or just relaxing.  During the evenings, the entire family would gather for dinner, games and socializing.

It really is amazing to think that my grandmother and her kids began this fun tradition over thirty years ago when I was just a tad bit older than my kids are now.  I have so many fond memories of our previous FQFF reunions and I hope that my kids will also have some cherished memories from this trip.  Looking forward to the next one!
