For the past few summers, our kids have spent a week in the summer with my parents at their cabin in Munds Park. During that week, they spend their mornings at soccer camp with Coach Tamera. Their afternoons are spent swimming or spending time at teen youth center at the Pinewood Country Club, playing with friends, or just relaxing at the cabin with Grandma and Papa. The kids (and my parents) love this week together.
Josh and I joined the kids and my parents at the cabin for the weekend after soccer had concluded on Friday. We had a delightful weekend full of catch-up time with my parents, a family hike on Saturday morning, swimming at the Pinewood club's pool with the Kurlands that afternoon and dinner with the Quilicis Saturday evening. Although it was a short weekend, it was so nice to have a reprieve from the Phoenix heat and spend some time with my parents. Maybe next summer, we will be able to get up to the cabin more than one weekend in the summer.
