On the Sunday following Thanksgiving, Josh and I had the opportunity to attend the Chargers vs. Broncos game in Denver, Colorado. Luckily, my parents agreed to watch the kids so that we could attend. It was a very quick trip Saturday to Monday. We spent Saturday exploring Downtown Denver. We enjoyed brunch at the Mercantile Dining & Provision at Union Station. It was a perfect place to brunch as we had taken the RTD from the airport into downtown. We also enjoyed a beverage at Terminal Bar before walking to our hotel to check-in.
Saturday evening, we met up with one of my industry associates, Scot, whose company (OneAmerica) sponsored our trip, for dinner and drinks. It was a delightful evening. Good food. Good company. Plus, I love that we were able to see Downtown Denver festively decorated for the holidays.
Sunday was game day! But, before meeting up with Scot and Karyn from OneAmerica, Josh and I walked to brunch at a hip Mediterranean restaurant named El Five. It was very good food. One of the best shakshuka I have ever had.
This was my second time attending a Broncos game in the stadium. Even though, the temperatures were freezing (literally), the game was so much fun. We had prime seating -- between the 30 and 40 yard lines about twenty rows up. There really is something special about attending a live Broncos game. Way more exciting than watching them at home! There is such a special energy in the stand. Plus, Josh brought enough hand warmers for all of us that we stayed pretty warm for most of the game. It wasn't until the very end that we got really cold. But, we had to stay because the game was a nail biter up until the last second of the game. Thankfully, the Broncos won! Made the cold temperatures even more bearable.
Looking forward to the next time I get to see the Broncos play at Mile High .... we may need to make this an annual tradition. It was such a great weekend!
