Kids' Fall Sports

This fall our kids kept active playing their own respective sports.  Aiden continued playing soccer.  And Madilyn decided to try cheer-leading.

Aiden's fall soccer season was trying.  There were many days that he wouldn't want to go to soccer practice and often would complain once there.  He seemed to be in a soccer rut or maybe it is just his age.  The only aspect of the game that finally got him to be somewhat excited to play was when he tended the goal.  We think that he likes this position because he doesn't have to run much and when he does well he is in the spotlight.  Whatever the reason, he seems to really enjoy goalie and actually did pretty good at it.  Let's hope Aiden gains a little more enthusiasm for the winter soccer season.

Madilyn is participating in cheer-leading through an organization called ActivStars.  They practice at the kids' elementary school one night a week.  Madilyn is loving it.  She is learning both cheers and stunts.  Madilyn is one of the "bases".  That means that she assists the flyer (top girl) into position.  In late November, Madilyn's cheer team participated in a competition.  They did a really good job, but sadly, didn't get moved on to the state competition as they didn't place in the top three.  Either way, Madilyn is enjoying herself and will be continuing the spring.
