Christmas Eve 2019

We started our Christmas Eve by spending some time with Oma in the morning.  She was so happy to see all of the children.  We brought some doughnuts to eat for breakfast and Oma enjoyed watching the kids run around the house playing with Beau, her dog.  It was a nice little visit and I'm so glad that we were able to bring her some holiday cheer.

In the evening, we were surrounded by family and friends for dinner and companionship.  The meal consisted of latkes and chili as this year Hanukkah and Christmas overlap.  We also had some great appetizers and desserts.  This year, sadly, it was too cold and rainy for us to sit outside by the fire-table.  So, instead, we enjoyed some logs burning in the fireplace while listening to the annual reading of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas recited by my Dad (Papa).  We also lit the menorah to commemorate the third night of Hanukkah.  Before the evening concluded, the kids opened their traditional Christmas Eve present which is always holiday pajamas and an ornament (usually it replicates what they were for Halloween).  The kids looked pretty adorable all together.  Glad that we could share the evening with both families.
